vBulletin - Open Discussion

Hello,

I am posting this today to open a discussion on vBulletin.

vBulletin is another forum software, but has an expensive license.

Please look at the Publishing Suite column and not the 4.0 column.

I am considering upgrading our forum to vBulletin starting the first of the 2013 year.

However, this will be an expensive upgrade and will roughly cost me:

$435 for Forum Publishing Suite, License, and Server Installation from a technician of vBulletin

$142.56 for 3 year hosting plan (unlimited bandwidth, disk space, shared SSL certificate)

Grand Total of $577.56 (for initial license and 3 year hosting plan)

Now, this is a big leap and it will take a lot of my consideration to upgrade this forum. We only have 115 members at the moment, and we will need at least 500 before I consider this as $577 is not exactly the price I wish to pay for a bundle of Playstation Network users.

What would you do if I upgraded this forum to vBulletin? How would this affect you? Would it be worth it?

this might change anything well only few stuff it think it's not worth it untill we get 600 memembers atleast

Well the thing is, when and if I do upgrade to vBulletin - all information, data, users, posts, topics, etc. will be lost from this forum.

:S then i'd say that you don't upgrade to vBulletin it's too expensive

I definitely do not want to request donations from CAOS members because as stated in my original ToS on our old website..

no fees, charges, payments, etc. will be force on anyone.
